Affiliate links and codes: two paths to the same referral
Understand consent, first-touch attribution and paid referrals before sharing your LayerWorth link or code.
Two paths, one creator
Referral link
The visitor chooses whether to remember the referral. Analytics consent is a separate choice.
Companion code
The customer enters your code in checkout. It identifies the same affiliate as your link.
The link and code become active after an approved affiliate accepts their terms. A code can attribute a referral even when there is no customer discount.
The referral window matters
A remembered link lasts seven days from the first visit. If there is no active attribution, entering a valid code starts an account referral window. An active first-touch referral takes priority over a later link or code; it is not replaced or extended.
A visitor who declines to remember a link can still use a valid code at checkout. Removing a code withdraws a pending code-based attribution, but does not replace an existing first-touch link referral.
A payment completes the journey
- Share an active referral link or companion code with a clear disclosure.
- The customer’s verified account receives eligible attribution.
- A qualifying subscription payment succeeds within the referral window.
- Verified payment records determine the commission under the affiliate’s terms.
Abandoned checkout is not a paid referral. Only one qualifying subscription per customer earns commission across their teams, and self-referrals are blocked.
Read the earnings, not just the clicks
Consented visits, new verified signups and paid subscriptions measure different steps. An existing customer entering a code is not a new signup. Do not treat every click as an earned commission.
Commissions use eligible collected subscription revenue after discounts and excluding tax. Holds, refunds, disputes and unusual invoices can affect availability. Payouts are arranged separately; the dashboard does not automatically send funds.
